Antique Deco Depression Pink Glass Bulldog Dog AshtrayThis si a wonderful elegant glittering pink glass. Deco-depression cigarette-cigar ashtray with a bulldog standing on a pedistal in the back. Lovely. This animal figural is a striking design produced by the greensburg glass company. It is named spike he is wearing a little spiked collar-referenced by whitmeyer on page 15 of bedroom & bathroom glassware of the depression years-executed with fine definition to the dog's features and texture to his coat. This bulldog is seen on powder jars and cigarette boxse as the lid. And this ashtray.Thsi is a cigarette-cigar ashtray. Hsa 3/4 holder. A large space fro 2 cigars or cigarettes. It is 5 x 4-3/4in diameter-3 tall to the top of the puppies head. The curved in well of the ashtray is 3-1/2 x 3/4 deep. There are no fleabites, chips, cracks, or repairs. Very rare ot be so nice and smooth. The puppys ears are in usper condition.
Perfect as are his legs, adn paws. No table rub marks-there is a little age softened nick on the inside of teh foot base. The dog is soldi glass and very reflective. Any white spots are the reflection of the flash into the depht of his coat-he is solid pink glass. For your rings and things. Paper clips on a desk. Etc. Insurance is optional, btu highly suggested.
